Goodbye, Georgia. Hello, North Carolina.

We entered NC today. That's a pretty huge accomplishment in itself. The hiking immediately got steeper. Plus, the weather hit a real cold snap. We are both fully dressed for bed and will probably still be cold. Thank god for warm, warm Chaser here in our tent.

We stayed in a shelter for our first time last night. Very cold with a lot of farts and snoring. It was a three bunk shelter uniquely built and dropped in by helicopter. Able to sleep 14 and that's about how many people there were. Good crowd though.

We've hiked about 88 miles so far. Tough hiking too. We are hoping it evens out soon. Those are the nicest miles.
